RETREAT:
ESWATINI (Reed Dance)
SEPTEMBER 4 - 8, 2026
Remember Her…
Before she learned to perform...
She danced.
Before she questioned whether she was enough...
She knew she belonged.
Before she measured herself against impossible expectations...
She delighted in simply being.
She laughed loudly.
She asked endless questions.
She imagined worlds where anything was possible.
She moved freely, without wondering who was watching.
She was your first teacher.
She was your first artist.
She was your first storyteller.
She was your first guide.
She is the little girl who still lives within you.
Somewhere between becoming successful, responsible, resilient, and everything the world asked us to be, many of us stopped listening to her voice. We traded curiosity for certainty. Wonder for productivity. Play for performance.
But she never left.
She has been patiently waiting for you to remember.
the journey to Play is a four-day wonder retreat for women that invites you to reconnect with the little girl within you and discover that play isn't something we outgrow—it's a way of seeing, a way of trusting, and a way of moving through the world.
Follow her wonder. Follow her joy. Follow her dance. She knows the way home.
Set against the breathtaking landscapes of the Kingdom of Eswatini, the Journey to Play culminates at the extraordinary Umhlanga (Reed Dance)—one of Africa's most powerful celebrations of young womanhood. As thousands of girls gather in song, dance, and tradition, we won't simply witness a ceremony. We'll witness a reflection. A reminder that the little girl within us has been patiently waiting to be invited back into the dance.
She still knows how to wonder.
She still knows how to trust.
She still knows how to dance before she performs.
She still knows how to play.
This is not a journey to become someone new. It's a journey to remember the girl who has been quietly walking beside you all along.
Over four unforgettable days, you'll experience the beauty of Eswatini through meaningful cultural encounters, joyful movement, creative expression, quiet reflection, and the company of extraordinary women. Together, we'll rediscover that play isn't something we leave behind in childhood—it's a way of seeing, a way of trusting, and a way of moving through the world.
This is more than a retreat.
It's an invitation to let your inner girl become your guide.
To dance like no one is watching.
To wonder without needing an answer.
To move through life with an open heart.
Because play isn't the destination.
It's the way home.

Day 1 — She Remembered
Remembering the girl before the world told her who to become
The journey begins by slowing down enough to hear a familiar voice—the little girl who still lives within. Through storytelling, reflection, and meaningful rituals, participants reconnect with the memories, dreams, and simple joys that shaped them before life demanded performance over presence.
Day 2 — She Wondered
Wonder is where play begins
Children don't rush through the world… They discover it. This day is devoted to curiosity, delight, and seeing with fresh eyes. As we wander through Eswatini's landscapes, artisan villages, and local culture, participants are invited to trade itineraries for intuition, certainty for curiosity, and productivity for presence.
Day 3 — She Danced
Where Wonder Becomes Movement
As thousands of girls gather in song, movement, and tradition, we are invited into something far deeper than observation. Their dance becomes a mirror, reflecting the innocence, courage, dignity, and joyful freedom that still lives within each of us. Throughout the day, participants are encouraged not only to witness, but to notice what awakens inside them.
Day 4 — She Played
Play Becomes a Way of Living
Our final day returns to the Reed Dance, but this time we arrive differently. No longer searching. Simply present. Inspired by the joy, rhythm, and sisterhood we've witnessed, we celebrate together—not by becoming children again, but by embracing the freedom to move through life with open hearts.

Kim Williams, creative facilitator
Kim is a storyteller, producer and the founder of the Wander Experience and genKati House, a women-centered, boutique guesthouse and creative space rooted in rest and grounded in community.
With over two decades of experience in the entertainment industry as a writer and producer, Kim has built a career around shaping story across film, television, publishing and digital media. In recent years, her work has expanded across the African continent, where she has taught storytelling, facilitated creative workshops, and supported creatives in reconnecting with their voice, vision, and lived experience.
At the heart of Kim’s work is a deep belief that story is not only something we tell—but something we live, carry, and create from authentic voice. Her creative work and facilitation style are shaped by her own devotion to creating without constraint and honoring the voice that emerges when women feel safe, seen, and supported.
As the founder of genKati House and the Wander Woman Retreat, Kim is in her own season of bloom—devoted to curating safe, beautiful environments where women can rest, gather, and create from fullness rather than exhaustion. the journey to Play reflects the heart of her life's work: creating experiences that awaken joy, nurture authentic connection, and invite women to remember the little girl within—the one who knew how to laugh, wonder, and dream before life asked her to carry so much. Because Kim believes that play isn't something we outgrow; it's something we find our way back to.retreat reflects the foundation of her life’s work: honoring women as creators, holding space for becoming, and remembering that creativity flourishes best when it is nurtured.
